ABOUT US

At Ko Taku Reo we work to nurture the social and emotional wellbeing of New Zealand’s Deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) children and help them form their own identity; as well as providing support and resources to help them reach their academic potential. This new organisation came out of the merger of Kelston and van Asch Deaf Education Centres.

THE ROLE
Come and join our new team of nationwide Regional Co-ordinators who make up the Leadership team of Ko Taku Reo Outreach School. Our Resource Teachers of the Deaf in the Auckland region provide direct teaching and indirect services to 850 Deaf and Hard of hearing children, aged 3-21 years, in mainstream schools.

ABOUT YOU
We are seeking a dynamic, future-focused fully registered teacher/school leader who has a thorough understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum, leadership experience, evidence-based practices for the inclusion of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students and proven culturally responsive practices. You will lead a team comprising of five Outreach School teams across Auckland and report to the Assistant Head of Outreach School. You will already have completed post-graduate qualifications and be an experienced Teacher of the Deaf/Special education background. We are wanting to recruit prior to the end of year with a planned start at the beginning of the 2021 school year.
