Central Otago KIT Day 2023

02 Nov 2023

Hi, I’m Rylee, and I would like to tell you about the KIT Day I organised. We held it at Highlands Motorsport Park in Cromwell on the 19th of October. There were 41 people: 23 students and 18 adults.

Our first activities were games where we got to know other people. You had a piece of paper each, and it had pictures and words that asked questions like do you have a brother or sister. The second game was a signing game where we lined up and passed on a message. We also had some shared kai of fruit and biscuits that I made.

Next, we went to the toilets. These toilets are cool. They’re called a Loo with a View; just have a look at the photos.

Then we had a quick snack and went to the Museum. The Museum is amazing because there is much to do, like the Scalextric track with bikes, virtual reality races, reaction time games and driving games. Also, there were cool, fancy cars.

Lastly, the group had lunch and went go-karting. Everybody looked like they had a great time.

After the go-karting, I handed out certificates to all students and then people headed back home. I enjoyed organising this KIT Day and meeting new people. There were highs (organising who was coming and designing the certificates) and lows (the meetings and paperwork). I would love to do this again.
