The Executive Principal recruitment committee met on Thursday, the 1st May

• The purpose of the meeting was to update the committee on the process to date and to ensure transparency throughout this process
• Decipher Group received 29 formal applications - these need to be analysed to ensure they meet the legal requirements and the criteria for the role.

A reminder of the criteria for the role:

• An experienced principal
• Executive leadership experience
• Registered teacher or able to be registered in New Zealand
• Deaf Education experience
• Specialist Education experience
• Conversational Sign Language

• All candidates are different and bring their own skill set, the difference will be which candidate best meets as many of the criteria we have as possible. Ie we might not find someone that meets them all.
• Decipher will provide the committee with a list of the applicants they feel we should investigate further, based on those that meet some or most of the criteria.
• The committee continues to lead the recruitment and will feed into the process at all stages, including selecting candidates for further investigation.
