Te Wiki o te Reo Māori | Māori Language Week 2026
14 Sept 2026
Welcome to Te Wiki o te Reo Māori | Māori Language Week 2026!
From Monday 14 to Sunday 20 September, we're celebrating the beauty and resilience of te reo Māori, a language that has endured, evolved, and continues to thrive as a living taonga (treasure) for generations to come.
This year's theme is Ake, Ake, Ake - A Forever Language. Whether reo Māori has always been part of your home, or you're just beginning your journey, every home, classroom, staffroom, and playground has a role to play.
To help you on your reo journey, we've put together a selection of resources that you can use to further your te reo skills.
