Kura Community Conduct Expectations
22 Aug 2025
We would like to issue a reminder of our Kura (School) Community Conduct Expectations.
At Ko Taku Reo - Deaf Education NZ, we are committed to providing a physically and emotionally safe place for all ākonga and staff and take all reasonable steps to eliminate racism, stigma, bullying, and any other forms of discrimination within the kura (Education and Training Act 2020, s 127).
We expect members of the kura community to comply with New Zealand legislation and regulations, and in all communications, treat school staff and other members of the kura community with respect. This includes using digital technology and social media safely and responsibly.
We expect members of the kura community to take reasonable care that their behaviour does not negatively affect the health, safety and/or privacy of others.
Anyone who wants to bring a matter to the attention of the kura is encouraged to follow our concerns and complaints procedures, including contacting an appropriate person at the kura. We expect concerns and complaints to be raised respectfully, constructively, and with a willingness to work collaboratively to resolve the matter.
